about

The chorus came from something my friend Jenn said to me, though she doesn't remember it.

I am a terrible whistler. TERRIBLE. This is literally the best I could do, and it still took several takes and a ton of reverb to sound even marginally okay. But rules are rules, and the rule of Homebrew is that I have to do all the tracks myself.

lyrics

This is the part about having no regrets
This the balancing act between daring and fear, between decision and choice, between living and life
This is the beautiful leap, the twist, the flip, the death-defying plunge
And I'm an acrobat, I'm an acrobat, I'm an acrobat

You said I'm landing on my feet
Well, maybe I won't land at all

This is the part about the one that got away
This is the heart that went on beating
This is the snap of the rope, the crash of the scaffold, the gasp
This is the forbidden second chance, the yes, the adrenaline shooting through the veins
And I'm an acrobat, I am an acrobat, I'm--

You said I'm landing on my feet
Well, maybe I won't land at all

Ladies and gentlemen, please
May I direct your attention to the center ring
Where Miss Bagby on her knees
Can talk herself into anything, anything

This is the part that I was born to play
This is the mask that fits like skin
These are the lines I wrote, the costume that I live in
This is the balancing act without the net
It's killed six men before
But I'm an acrobat, I'm an acrobat, I'm an acrobat, I'm--

You said I'm landing on my feet
Well, maybe I won't land at all
Maybe, maybe this is the part where I don't land at all
